Mayhem in Puyallup

So the new Sonic Drive-in opened yesterday and Puyallup went crazy! We were driving to the post office and there was this insane traffic...we couldn't figure out what was going on. Then all of a sudden we saw it...a huge line of cars waiting to get into Sonic! It was crazy. They had cars lined up 4 rows wide with at least 10 cars per row waiting just to get in. We heard people were waiting in line for 3+ hours! All this for fast food...I don't get it.

Spring Fair

We took the kids to the spring fair last weekend. There were tons of people there! I guess with the economy everyone is staying local instead of traveling. They said the attendance was up 37%. Crazy.

Why is it called a "blog" anyway???

Interesting question, right? Well, it never crossed my mind until that very question was posed to me by a new blog reader the other day. Apparently it comes from the term "web log" and somewhere along the road the term was combined and shortened to simply "blog" . So now you know. :)

14 year anniversary

Yesterday was Brent and my 14th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately I've been super sick so we weren't able to go anywhere. We are hoping to go out this weekend if I'm feeling better. We had a nice evening though and Brent served me dinner in bed...so sweet! The kids had arranged for Grandma to take them shopping to buy us gifts. I was super impressed; they made all the arrangements, picked out the gifts on their own, used their own money they've saved, and wrapped the gifts all by themselves. The picture didn't turn out very well because it was dark, but you can see the big boxes...which was a trick...they used big boxes to throw us off from what was inside. The contents; an itunes gift card, flowers, and lindt truffles for me and BBQ stuff and sour patch kids for Brent (his favorite!). We were so thrilled and touched. It was very thoughtful of the kids to think of us. :)

Grandma also dropped off a huge bag of Touch of Mink supplies! Which was super nice...I was needing to restock.

So next year is the big 15. It seems crazy to say that. I'm getting old!

Swan Lake

We went to McCaw Hall on Saturday and saw Swan Lake. It was such a beautiful production and the dancers were amazing! Madeleine was completely inspired and is ready to take up her ballet lessons again. :)

Daffodil Parade

We had great weather for the Daffodil Parade on the 4th. We decided to go to the one in Orting because it was the last stop and Brent had to work earlier in the day. They put on a really good spread there. They had a huge BBQ in the park and lots of food stands and arts and crafts. It was a lot of fun with the exception of a crazy allergy attack that hit me.

It was such a nice weekend that we hit Loyalty Park the next day.

All I need

Yard work!

It is such a pretty day today. I finally got caught up on all my yard work. Hooray! I pruned all the roses and shrubs and weeded all the beds and containers. We pulled the patio cushions out of the garage and got the deck all setup again. I need to make a trip to the greenhouse to get some fresh annuals for the containers, but other then that it looks great! (Well we still are struggling with the lawn. We may have to rip it up and start over. Blah.) I also went to fuchsia day at Freddy's and got a nice new fuchsia basket stated for the front porch. I love spring! It makes me sooo Happy. :)

April already?

I can't believe it's already April! This year is really flying by! It actually felt a bit like spring today too. We went for a walk and it was actually warm enough to take my coat off...shocking! I haven't been able to do that yet this year I don't think. LOL :)
